Partner Letter - September 2021

Dear Partner,

I had it on my heart to encourage you with these passages of scripture.

Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles..

(2 Chronicles 32:7-8 KJV)

I know many Christians have questions concerning the direction of this country and what our role as believers is supposed to be. It seems like everyone has an opinion regarding what needs to be done, what needs to be said and who needs to do it. As citizens of this country we have a voice and we should exercise our rights and do everything we know to do in the natural so that Godliness is promoted and our God-given freedoms are preserved. That does not mean that we all should run for office or be on the school board, etc., I believe the Lord will raise people up that should do those things, however not all of us are called, graced and anointed for those positions. BUT whatever it is we are doing naturally we must remember that our reliance is not in the arm of flesh!

It is really easy to get sidetracked and so focused on what we should be doing naturally that we condemn ourselves for not doing enough and almost forget about the spiritual. In 2 Chronicles 32 Sennacherib king of Assyria came to fight against Jerusalem, Hezekiah king of Judah made all the necessary natural preparations a king should make in war time BUT HE DID NOT place his TRUST in the natural. Hezekiah was CONFIDENTLY TRUSTING IN THE LORD to help them get the victory. Sennacherib mocked Hezekiah for trusting in the Lord and spoke against the God of Israel, basically disrespecting and disregarding that the Lord was even able to deliver Jerusalem. But Hezekiah looked to the Lord and he supernaturally saved them from the hand of Sennacherib. We as people of faith must be on guard that we do not disrespect or make light of the supernatural power of God by treating it as insufficient to deal with the circumstances we are facing.

The Word of God says: For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. (Psalms 44:6-7 KJV)

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

(Psalm 20:7 NIV)

So while we do what we know in the natural, we must remember that OUR TRUST IS NOT IN THE ARM OF FLESH BUT IN THE LORD ONLY AND THAT IS NO SMALL THING.
