Proverbs 12:18 The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Social media has given people the ability to quickly react, comment and respond to news and events with whatever is on their mind. But just because something is on your mind does not mean it came from the mind of God. Immediate reactions and comments do not equal Holy Spirit inspired, anointed words that remove burdens and destroy yokes. This is why the Lord COMMANDED Christians to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger because the quick, fast, immediate reaction is usually reckless and before you realize it the devil has used you to cause damage and wound another person and now they have to trust and believe God to overcome this hurt. And if you’re bitter and hurt, you’re not ready for God to speak through you until you receive your healing, anything you would say would just be spreading more hurt and bitterness.

As people that claim to be christians, who represent Jesus Christ, we actually do NOT have a right to just voice our opinion. Jesus himself said he only said what the Father told him (John 12:49), if Jesus, Our Lord and Master, did not just say whatever he wanted, why would we be so special that we can just say whatever we feel like? The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his Lord (Matthew 10:24). We may have our opinions but we should submit our ideas and opinions to The Father God who is the only one which knows every specific detail about every situation and person, then only say what and if he gives us something to say. Ephesians 4:29 commands Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
